About Fourfivesix
Fourfivesix is a New York-based, multi-disciplinary design studio consisting of designer/developer John Lepak and designer/writer Katharina Riehle. We work to create brands, websites, advertising and other printed media for a variety of clients including corporations, cultural institutions, small businesses and non-profit organizations.
John Lepak
John has been working as a designer in a freelance or a studio environment since starting Fourfivesix in 2006 while attending Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. Upon graduating in 2007, John returned to his hometown of Hartford, Connecticut to work for some of the area’s premier agencies, creating award-winning websites, brands, publications and advertising for a multitude of clients from museums, universities and corporations to independent artists, boutique businesses and non-profit organizations. His background in graphic design, typography and web development lent itself to a growing freelance business and his decision, in 2011, to strike out on his own and return to New York City, taking Fourfivesix full-time.
Katharina Riehle
Kat’s study of both art and writing led her to a sturdy conclusion coming out of school: publishing. After graduating from Boston College in 2007, Kat followed that directive and joined The Taunton Press’ creative department as an Art Assistant. Over her four years with Taunton, Kat worked on several of their publications including Fine Woodworking, Fine Cooking, Threads and CraftStylish, building a reputation and rising to the rank of Art Director. Kat would, independently, see an entire magazine through—from casting models, to overseeing photo shoots, to designing layouts and even illustration. In 2012 Kat decided to broaden her design experience, taking a job as Graphic Design Manager for the Marketing and Communications Department at Manhattan College in the Bronx, New York.
The work featured on this website was designed by John Lepak and/or Katharina Riehle at Fourfivesix as well as at various other studios.
